 Restoring our community since 2017

BIMA Services is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization serving the greater Pierce County area in Washington state.

BIMA - an acronym for Believing in Myself Again - was founded in 2017 to create a space that allows people from all walks of life to set a new foundation, rebuild their confidence, and reconnect to their purpose.

We accomplish this through our restoration programs specialized in providing outreach services and supportive housing to individuals who are low-income and/or unhoused.

Mission Statement:

To restore purpose by improving lives through Community outreach, supportive housing and by meeting the basic needs for low income, and unhoused individuals.

Our Vision:

To build stronger communities, one step, one person at a time, by creating permanent solutions.

Our Founder: Bridgette Johnson

“Change is an inside job that manifests itself outwardly.”

Bridgette founded BIMA (Believing In Myself Again) Services in 2017 in reaction to the rising homelessness issue facing the Pierce County area. Her nonprofit provides community outreach, resources and a safe haven to individuals and families who have lost their voice and don’t know where to turn by helping them find their voice to be HEARD:

Housed, Educated, Assured, Restored & Determined.

Bridgette’s own experience with homelessness 17 years ago combined with her accreditation as a Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor and Social Worker, eventually was her guiding light to start BIMA alongside her husband, Marvin. Her front row seat to sudden upheaval and loss enabled Bridgette with the skills, insight and heart space to be a beacon of hope to others in need.
